Parrot Line was formed as a 24-hour advisory service in 1994/5. It is now the largest parrot rescue charity in the United Kingdom. Three branches control representatives covering the UK coast to coast and taking in over 15,000 telephone calls and 20,000 email queries per year. Tropenlust is de vogelvereniging voor alle kwekers van tropen/kanaries/parkieten/Europese cultuurvogels uit Wehl en verre omtrek. De oprichting in 1959 door enkele inwoners resulteerde in 1999 in het 40-jarig jubileum, waarvan de vogelshow (gehouden in november) het hoogtepunt van het jaar was. Deze onder de vlag van de NBvV (website in aanbouw) gehouden en gekeurde show mocht er door de grote verscheidenheid in allerlei soorten, en niet te vergeten de kwaliteit van de vogels zich wederom de ''show''van de regio noemen!
